FIBER CABLING SOLUTIONS

When Your Network Needs to Move
at the Speed of Light — Literally.

Fiber optic cabling design, installation, and certification for campuses, multi-floor buildings, data centers, and long-distance backbone runs. When copper hits its limits — distance, bandwidth, or interference — fiber is the answer. We design and install it right the first time.

Fixed-scope. Fixed-price. Certified on every run before we leave the site.

WHEN COPPER ISN'T ENOUGH

Copper cabling has served businesses well for decades. But there are environments and use cases where its physical limitations — distance, bandwidth ceiling, electromagnetic interference — make fiber the only viable solution.

01

There are distance limitations copper can't overcome

Cat6A supports 10GbE up to 100 meters — after that, signal degrades and performance drops. Consider for campus environments, multi-building connections, and long backbone runs require fiber to maintain performance over distance without repeaters.

02

Bandwidth demands that exceed copper's ceiling

Data centers, high-density server environments, video production, and research computing all generate traffic volumes that quickly saturate copper backbone runs. Fiber delivers 40Gbps to 100Gbps on current standards — with headroom for what's coming.

03

Electromagnetic interference in industrial environments

Manufacturing floors, industrial facilities, and environments with heavy electrical equipment generate EMI that degrades copper signal quality. Fiber is immune to electromagnetic interference — making it the only reliable choice in electrically noisy environments.

04

Security environments requiring non-interceptable transmission

Fiber doesn't radiate an electromagnetic signal that can be intercepted without physical access to the cable. For government, defense, healthcare, and financial environments with stringent data security requirements, fiber backbone runs provide a security advantage copper cannot match.

Silotech Fiber Cabling Solutions designs and installs the right fiber architecture for your environment — multimode for intra-building runs, single-mode for campus and long-distance backbone, and the connectors, enclosures, and splicing that make it perform at spec for decades.

FIBER TYPES WE INSTALL

The right fiber for the right application — specified correctly from the start.

MULTIMODE FIBER

OM3 · OM4 · OM5 — SHORT TO MID DISTANCE

Max distance

Up to 550m (OM4 at 10GbE)

Max bandwidth

100Gbps (OM5)

Best for

Intra-building backbone, data centers

Cost-effective for runs within a building or between adjacent buildings. OM4 is the current standard for most commercial environments. OM5 supports wavelength division multiplexing for future-proofed installations.

SINGLE-MODE FIBER

OS1 · OS2 — LONG DISTANCE & CAMPUS

Max Distance

Up to 40km (OS2)

Max bandwidth

Effectively unlimited at current speeds

Best for

Campus, multi-building, ISP handoffs

The standard for campus backbone, building-to-building runs, and any installation where distance exceeds multimode capability. Higher upfront cost than multimode, but the only viable option for long runs — and immune to future bandwidth upgrades requiring recabling.

WHAT WE DO

Complete fiber installations — design through certification.

DESIGN

Fiber Network Design

Topology planning, fiber type selection, strand count sizing, pathway routing, and enclosure placement — designed for current requirements and future bandwidth growth.

INSTALL

Fiber Installation & Splicing

Indoor, outdoor, and direct-burial fiber installation — fusion splicing, mechanical termination, and pre-terminated fiber assembly for applications where tight tolerances are required.

ENCLOSURES

Fiber Enclosures & Patch Panels

Wall-mount and rack-mount fiber enclosures, splice trays, and patch panel management — organized, labeled, and built for clean access and long-term manageability.

TESTING

OTDR Testing & Certification

Optical Time Domain Reflectometer testing on every run — insertion loss, reflectance, and splice quality measured and documented to TIA/EIA standards. Silotech certification reports provided at handoff.

CAMPUS

Campus & Inter-Building Backbone

Underground conduit, aerial runs, and direct-burial fiber connecting multiple buildings across campus environments — engineered for the distance, environment, and bandwidth demands of each installation.

HYBRID

Hybrid Fiber & Copper Integration

Most environments use fiber for backbone runs and copper for the horizontal distribution to endpoints. We design and install both — with the transition points, media converters, and documentation that make the hybrid architecture manageable.

FIBER TYPES WE INSTALL

Fiber projects require precision at every stage. Here's how we ensure it.

1-Circle

SITE SURVEY & SCOPE — Fixed-price quote before work begins

Distance measurement, pathway assessment, bandwidth requirements, and fiber type selection — documented in a scope of work with a fixed-price quote before any work begins.

2-Circle

PATHWAY PREPARATION & MATERIAL STAGING

Conduit verification, innerduct installation where required, and material staging — all completed before fiber is pulled to protect the cable and ensure installation moves at schedule.

3-Circle

FIBER PULLING, SPLICING & TERMINATION

Careful fiber pulling with proper bend radius protection, fusion splicing at all connection points, and precision termination — the craft work that determines whether fiber performs at spec or underperforms for its entire service life.

4-Circle

OTDR TESTING & CERTIFICATION

Every run tested with OTDR equipment to verify insertion loss and splice quality meets TIA/EIA specifications. No run is accepted without passing certification. Every result documented in the project report.

5-Circle

AS-BUILT DOCUMENTATION & HANDOFF

Complete as-built drawings, OTDR test reports, splice records, and enclosure documentation delivered at project close. Your fiber infrastructure is fully documented for the life of the installation.

WHO IT'S FOR

Built for environments where copper hits its limits and performance can't be compromised.

Multi-Building Commercial

Office parks, retail complexes, and multi-building commercial properties requiring shared high-speed connectivity across structures.

FIBER VS. COPPER — WHEN TO CHOOSE EACH

Not every run needs fiber. Here's an honest guide to choosing the right infrastructure for each application.

CHOOSE FIBER WHEN:

  • Run distance exceeds 100 meters
  • Bandwidth requirements exceed 10GbE
  • Environment has high electromagnetic interference
  • Connecting buildings across a campus or property
  • Security requirements prohibit interceptable transmission
  • Future-proofing a high-investment infrastructure build

CHOOSE COPPER WHEN:

  • Runs are within 100 meters — workstations to switches
  • PoE is required — copper delivers power, fiber cannot
  • Budget is the primary constraint for horizontal runs
  • Standard office environment — 1GbE or 10GbE to desktop
  • End-user connectivity from IDF to workstation drops
  • No EMI concerns and bandwidth demands are modest

Most enterprise environments use both — fiber backbone between floors and buildings, copper for horizontal runs to endpoints. We design and install both. Ask us which architecture is right for your environment.
